Pre-Employment Health Screening The purpose of pre-employment health screening
is to assess the health and fitness of any prospective employee
to fulfil the duties expected of them.
- By completing a pre-employment questionnaire, an initial
assessment can be made as to the suitability of prospective
employees for the role which they have been selected to
fill.
- Physical and psychological well being, current or past
illnesses or injuries, can all impact on the effectiveness
of employees to perform to the best of their abilities and
may affect the performance of their colleagues too.
- Workplace hazards and their potential to affect the health
of new employees should also be regularly assessed.
Pre-employment health screening is tailored to meet the specific
requirements of each company and can include specific tests,
such as spirometry or audiometry as appropriate.
